Commissioning Furniture 

As well as making and keeping the tradition of Orkney chairs alive, TOFM also specialises in ‘one off’ pieces of furniture made and designed especially to the customer’s specific design. 

Purchasing ready made furniture can be frustrating.  Possibly the ideal piece may be found but it turns out to be made from the wrong wood, or that little bit too small (or large)!  Kevin can make individual pieces based on individual styles or homes.  Each piece of commissioned furniture is expertly designed and created using traditional construction techniques.  

If you are interested in having that special item of furniture created for your home or for a gift, come along and discuss your ideas with Kevin, bringing with you any books or magazines featuring designs you like. 

TOFM will produce various design drawings and descriptions based on your individual requirements before beginning the project - this will allow you to ensure that all important aspects of the design are included.  Once a final design and price has been agreed, a 20% deposit will be required and then the creation of your individual piece begins.
