The Orkney Furniture Maker welcomes visitors to his Studio and Gallery all year round, which offers beautiful views of the picturesque Royal Borough of Kirkwall and Kirkwall Bay.

TOFM has a full and detailed portfolio of his work - both traditional and contemporary - available for your perusal and Kevin is also on hand to discuss that special or unique piece that you may wish to bring to life.

History of The Orkney Furniture Makers workshop and Gallery

Kevin established his workshop in a small garage attached to his house in 2006. Alongside working on orders and commissions, Kevin was also renovating an abandoned chicken shed, located on the family farm, that was built by his great-grandfather shortly after he returned from serving in WW1. The building required extensive work as it had no windows or doors, half a floor and a collapsing roof. Kevin finally finished renovating this building in 2008 and established his first dedicated workshop along with a small showroom in which to display his work.

It wasn’t long before the demand for Kevin’s work outgrew this space and an extension to the building was added. Business and demand continued to grow and in 2020 Kevin decided to more than double the size of his current workshop to incorporate further working space and a new gallery to showcase his work. Kevin’s new studio and gallery was finally completed and opened in summer of 2022, receiving a fantastic response. The Orkney Furniture Maker now offers a unique and beautiful Gallery experience where you will find much more than Kevin's work on display. Also on display are the creations of some of his talented family and friends; there truly is something for everyone.
